Peripheral eosinophil counts decrease 9 hours after allergen challenge in asthma patients. This eosinophil drop correlates with late asthmatic responses and increased bronchial hyperresponsiveness.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To investigate the changes in peripheral eosinophil counts after allergen inhalation in asthmatic subjects.
  • To correlate these eosinophil count changes with the late asthmatic response and bronchial hyperresponsiveness.
