This study reports the first case of chorioamnionitis caused by Leptotrichia trevisanii. The infection was identified in amniotic fluid and treated successfully, with the patient recovering fully.

- Matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time of flight mass spectrometry identified the bacterium as Leptotrichia trevisanii.
- Microscopic examination of the placenta confirmed severe acute chorioamnionitis with abundant microorganisms.
- This is the first reported case of chorioamnionitis caused by Leptotrichia trevisanii.
Implications:
- This finding expands the spectrum of known pathogens causing chorioamnionitis.
- Early identification and appropriate antibiotic treatment (ampicillin and gentamicin) led to a favorable maternal outcome.
- Further research may be needed to understand the prevalence and clinical significance of Leptotrichia trevisanii in obstetric infections.
