Surgical disassembly of the Sivash hip

Due to the constrained nature of the Sivash type total hip, revision of the acetabular component without revision of the stem depends on the ability to separate the unit. Where the stem is tight in the shaft of the femur, it is preferable not to revise the stem if separation of the components is possible. This report describes a simple method of component separation.
