Area of Science:

  • Urology
  • Gynecology
  • Surgical Innovation

Background:

  • Urinary incontinence affects a significant patient population.
  • Existing surgical treatments for incontinence have limitations.
  • Minimally invasive techniques are sought to improve patient outcomes.

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy of transvaginal needle suspension with bone fixation for treating urinary incontinence.
  • To assess the impact of using the pubic tubercle as a fixation point on surgical outcomes and patient comfort.

Main Methods:

  • A transvaginal needle suspension procedure was performed.
  • Bone fixation technique utilizing the pubic tubercle for suture suspension was employed.
  • Postoperative continence, outflow obstruction, pain, and discomfort were assessed.

Main Results:

  • The procedure achieved excellent restoration of continence.
  • No cases of postoperative outflow obstruction were observed.
  • Significant decrease in postoperative pain and discomfort was noted with pubic tubercle fixation.

Conclusions:

  • Transvaginal needle suspension with bone fixation is an effective treatment for urinary incontinence.
  • Pubic tubercle fixation offers a precise surgical approach with improved patient recovery.
  • This technique provides continence restoration without the risk of outflow obstruction.
