Importance of vancomycin loading doses in intermittent infusion regimens

Administering a vancomycin loading dose significantly improves achievement of therapeutic targets in adult patients receiving intermittent vancomycin. This loading dose is underutilized but recommended for optimal vancomycin pharmacokinetic/pharmacodynamic (PK/PD) goals.
