Randomized controlled evaluation of an insulin pen storage policy

Secure bedside storage of insulin pens, combined with nurse education, significantly improved adherence to storage policies, reducing medication errors. This quality improvement project enhanced patient safety by preventing wrong-pen-to-patient insulin pen errors.
