Threaded cup acetabuloplasty (TCA) for total hip arthroplasty (THA) showed no advantage over cemented fixation. This technique may present disadvantages, including pain and cup dislodgement, particularly in complex cases.

Background:

Purpose of the Study:

  • To evaluate the efficacy and safety of threaded cup acetabuloplasty (TCA) in total hip arthroplasty (THA).
  • To compare TCA outcomes with traditional cemented fixation methods.

  • Retrospective review of 121 patients undergoing THA with TCA.
  • Analysis of patient assessments and roentgenograms at an average of 30 months post-surgery.
  • Inclusion of cases for failed arthroplasty and those requiring bone-graft reconstruction.
