Multiple extra-adrenal paragangliomas associated with catecholamine cardiomyopathy

Multiple extra-adrenal paragangliomas can cause dilated cardiomyopathy, even without significant hypertension. Surgical removal of these tumors did not reverse the cardiac damage, leading to fatal left ventricular failure.
