  • Magnifying chromoendoscopy revealed a whitish-clouded, honeycomb-like pattern at crypt openings.
  • High-magnification NBI showed irregular caliber variations in the subepithelial capillary network.
  • These endoscopic findings correlated with the histological hallmark of CC: thickened subepithelial collagen bands.

Implications:

  • Magnifying image-enhanced endoscopy presents a reliable, non-invasive tool for diagnosing collagenous colitis.
  • These techniques could potentially expedite diagnosis and patient management.
  • Further research can validate these endoscopic markers in larger cohorts.
