- The non-DDO group had significantly greater residual volume than the DDO group.
- Gene expression analysis revealed significant differences: BOO group had 898 upregulated/2,911 downregulated genes; non-DDO group had 3,472 upregulated/4,025 downregulated genes; DDO group had only 145 upregulated/72 downregulated genes.
Conclusions:
- Bladder function and gene expression normalized in deobstructed rats with DO, unlike those without DO.
- Persistent DO after BOO and deobstruction may indicate a protective, adaptive neuroplastic response to bladder stress.
