    Researchers established T lymphocyte lines from synovial fluid of arthritis patients using interleukin-2 (IL-2). These lines exhibited T8+ cell dominance and variable T4+/T8+ ratios, with some showing natural killer (NK) or suppressor cell activity.

    Background:

    • Synovial fluid (SF) in arthritis patients contains T lymphocytes.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To establish and characterize T lymphocyte lines from the SF of arthritis patients.
    • To investigate the immunophenotype and functional properties of these SF-derived T cells.

    • T lymphocyte lines were generated from SF using IL-2.
    • Flow cytometry was used to determine T cell surface markers (T3, T11, T4, T8).
