Microvascular techniques in reconstruction following major resections for cancer of the head and neck

Thirteen microvascular free tissue transfers have been used for reconstruction of defects in the head and neck following cancer ablation. These procedures have produced a more rapid repair than conventional techniques and have allowed use of more appropriate tissues than are available locally.
