General cutaneous examination of the podiatric patient

Abstract:
Dr. Graff has done something that I have always felt was important, that is to create a list of possible cutaneous lesions presenting on the lower extremities which might be associated with skin problems elsewhere or be manifestations of systemic disease. I agree that it is easy for podiatric physicians to become narrow-minded in our evaluation of the entire patient. He points out several simple ways to become more efficient in the initial examination process. Lastly, I hope that all of you will take some time to think about and review the lists he provides so that your diagnostic abilities will continue to increase.
