- A high degree of interobserver variability exists in the histologic diagnosis of IPF/UIP, even within a defined cohort.
- The findings underscore the necessity of multidisciplinary decision-making in IPF diagnosis.
- Reassessment of current histologic criteria for UIP is warranted to improve diagnostic consistency and reliability.
