Preoperative concerns of the patient undergoing craniotomy

To prepare the patient for craniotomy, specific concerns of the patient undergoing craniotomy must be assessed. This study investigated specific concerns of selected patients scheduled for craniotomy. An interview guide and an outline for probe questions were developed. Most concerns fit into categories that included loss of function, return of function, current disability, physician's ability, the operation, and prognosis.
