Participants found global HTA principles valid and applicable to the Latin American region.

Findings:

Five priority HTA principles identified: transparency, stakeholder involvement, appeal mechanisms, clear priority-setting, and a link between assessment and decision-making.
A key challenge is balancing principle implementation with resource availability to maintain timely and relevant HTA reports.
Resource constraints can hinder the adoption of advanced HTA practices without compromising efficiency.

Implications:

The study recommends a phased approach to improving HTA in Latin America, tailored to each country's specific context.
Adapting international HTA standards locally is crucial for successful integration and decision-making.
Sustainable HTA development requires balancing global best practices with regional resource realities.
