EPOS2012 has better specificity compared to IDSA2012 for diagnosing acute bacterial rhinosinusitis

The European (EPOS2012) and American (IDSA2012) guidelines for diagnosing acute bacterial rhinosinusitis (ABRS) show modest accuracy. The IDSA2012 criteria may lead to unnecessary antibiotic prescriptions due to lower specificity.
