Acute transient large-angle exotropia caused by traumatic orbital contusion

Blunt orbital trauma can cause acute large-angle exotropia (outward turning eye) in children. Prompt steroid treatment resolved strabismus and eye movement issues, avoiding surgery when muscles were intact.

- High-resolution MRI is crucial for evaluating extraocular muscle injuries.
- Non-surgical management with steroids is effective when imaging excludes muscle disinsertion or rupture.
