Background:

Superstructure attachment is crucial for dental implant stability.
Sealing materials are sometimes used to prevent bacterial leakage.

Purpose of the Study:

To evaluate the effect of sealing materials on superstructure attachment.
To assess tightening/loosening torque and implant-abutment gap in two implant systems.

Main Methods:

Tested silicone, chlorhexidine gel, and industrial lubricant as sealing materials.
Assessed implant-abutment gap using a 3D microscope.
Measured abutment screw torque with a digital torque screwdriver on BEGO Semados RI and Nobel Biocare Replace Select Straight implants.

Main Results:

Sealing materials did not influence the implant-abutment gap.
A significant decrease in the force required for abutment screw loosening was observed.

Conclusions:

Sealing materials may offer antibacterial benefits.
Sealing materials negatively influence abutment screw torque, potentially compromising stability.
