Through-knee amputation is a feasible alternative to above-knee amputation

Through-knee amputation (TKA) offers biomechanical benefits but has been underutilized. This study found TKA has similar wound healing and mortality rates compared to above-knee amputation (AKA), suggesting it is safe for select patients.
