David Antoniucci1

  • 1Head of the Division of Cardiology at Careggi Hospital in Florence, Italy. He completed his specialist training in 1978 and has held his current position since 1998. His experience comprises in excess of 10,000 coronary revascularisation procedures, 2,000 peripheral revascularisations and several types of newer interventions, including more than 80 septal ablations in hypertrophic cardiomyopathy and 100 transcatheter aortic valve implantation procedures. Professor Antoniucci is the author of more than 200 scientific articles in highly ranked medical journals (h-index 29) and is a reviewer for, among other publications, Circulation, the Journal of the American College of Cardiology and the European Heart Journal. He is also on the editorial board of the Journal of the American College of Cardiology, European Heart Journal and EuroIntervention. He was on the steering committee or was the principal investigator of several international randomised trials, including ACE, ASSENT 4, BRAVE 2 and JETSTENT, and is frequently invited to major international cardiology meetings to speak about his work.
