Oxygen management in mechanically ventilated patients: A multicenter prospective observational study

Hyperoxemia, or high arterial oxygen levels, was common in patients on mechanical ventilation (MV). Despite high oxygen saturation, fraction of inspired oxygen (FIO2) was often not reduced, indicating a failure to correct hyperoxemia.
