Observation:

  • A case study focused on a patient with FH experiencing non-response to PCSK9 inhibitor therapy.
  • Potential causes for non-response, such as genetic mutations affecting LDL-C receptors or PCSK9 binding, were considered.

Findings:

  • The patient, a 41-year-old woman with FH and premature cardiovascular disease, demonstrated non-response to evolocumab.
  • This non-response was attributed to an incorrect subcutaneous injection technique, not underlying genetic resistance.

Implications:
