TERT aberrancies: a screening tool for malignancy in follicular thyroid tumours

Genetic aberrations in the Telomerase reverse transcriptase (TERT) gene are common in aggressive follicular thyroid cancers. These TERT alterations, including mutations and copy number gains, indicate an increased risk of recurrence and can help determine tumor malignancy.
