Abstract:
Facile displacement of the ether ligand from complex 1 provides a convenient route to the reactive cation [WTp'(CO)(PhC≡CMe)]+ (Tp'=hydridotris(3,5-dimethylpyrazol-1-yl)borate). In the absence of suitable ligands, 1 decomposes in dichloromethane and reacts with the solvent to form the metallacycle 2 [Eq. (a)].
