A New CoII Complex as a Bulge-Specific Probe for DNA

This study shows that a cobalt complex, [CoII (tfa)2 (happ)], specifically cleaves DNA bulges. This oxidative cleavage, activated by hydrogen peroxide, suggests hydroxyl radicals are the key reactive species.
