Hairy cell leukemia cells are relatively NK-insensitive targets

Interferon alpha (IFN alpha) does not enhance natural killer cell activity against hairy cell leukemia. Hairy cells are resistant to natural killer cell-mediated lysis, indicating a lack of target recognition.
