Abstract:
Tm Bioscience Corporation, a molecular diagnostics company, is dedicated to advancing personalized medicine and improving healthcare by commercializing a suite of pharmacogenetic diagnostic assays. Tm Bioscience's assays will allow healthcare providers to identify mutations in a patient's enzyme encoding genes in the cytochrome P450 (CYP) family. CYP enzymes are responsible for metabolizing many commonly prescribed drugs on the market today. Tm Bioscience has commercialized assays to detect mutations in the CYP2C9, CYP2D6 and CYP2C19 enzyme encoding genes and is developing and expanding this suite of pharmacogenetic tests to provide clinicians with tools that will allow them to apply genetic discoveries to improve drug safety and efficacy.
