Interim dentures for the older patient who is medically compromised

The concept of interim or transitional dentures is appropriate to the treatment of older patients who are hospitalized or medically compromised. This paper briefly reviews the emotional and physiological needs of these patients, and illustrates a case in which an interim denture technique was beneficial.
