    • Placental pathology is crucial in perinatal death investigations.

    Observation:

    • Autopsy revealed a retroplacental hematoma.
    • Severe congenital skull deformity was noted.

    Findings:

    • Retroplacental hematoma identified as the cause of death.
    • Skull deformity likely incompatible with survival.

    Implications:

    • Highlights the importance of placental examination in stillbirth.
    • Suggests congenital anomalies can be a primary factor in non-viable births.
