Abstract:
Stephen Holgate holds a Medical Research Council Clinical Research Chair in Immunopharmacology at the University of Southampton (UK). A former adviser to the House of Lords Select Committee on Science and Technology, he is also the recipient of numerous honors and awards. He is the author of over 800 peer-reviewed papers, co-editor of Clinical and Experimental Allergy, and is currently co-Chair of the National Allergy Strategy group. His research focuses on the cellular and mediator mechanisms of allergy and asthma, particularly focusing on applications for diagnosis and treatment.
