    Background:

    • Well-trained individuals often exhibit lower resting heart rates (HR) compared to sedentary individuals.
    • Understanding cardiac adaptations to exercise is crucial for assessing cardiovascular health.

    Purpose of the Study:

    • To investigate the effects of a supervised exercise program on cardiac structure and function.
    • To determine if fitness training induces cardiac enlargement or alters contractile state during exercise.

    Main Methods:

    • Compared 12 trained participants (EG) with 12 sedentary controls (CG) using resting echocardiograms.
    • Utilized radionuclide angiograms at rest and during supine cycling to assess cardiac function.
    • Measured ejection fraction (EF) and peak systolic ejection rate (PSER).
