Schizophrenia patients with lower alpha-2 receptor binding showed more negative symptoms and a weaker response to chlorpromazine (CPZ) treatment. This suggests subsensitive alpha-2-adrenergic receptors are linked to negative symptoms and reduced CPZ efficacy in schizophrenia.
