This study evaluated monoclonal antibodies for detecting human IgG subclasses against herpes simplex virus (HSV). IgG1 antibodies were common in HSV infections, while IgG2, IgG3, and IgG4 appeared in recurrent cases, with IgG4 more frequent in men.
