  • Lacrimal irrigation with antibiotics successfully treated 16 eyes with SmartPlug complications.
  • Two eyes with pyogenic granuloma recurred after surgical excision.

Implications:

  • SmartPlug complications necessitate long-term patient monitoring.
  • Antibiotic lacrimal irrigation is a primary treatment for SmartPlug-related canaliculitis and granuloma.
