    Summary

    A new subunit vaccine effectively protected cats against feline calicivirus (FCV) challenge. Vaccinated cats remained healthy, while unvaccinated controls showed severe disease symptoms.

    Background:

    • Feline calicivirus (FCV) is a common and contagious respiratory pathogen in cats.
    • Existing vaccines may not offer complete protection against all strains.
