Automatic calculation of myocardial external efficiency using a single 11C-acetate PET scan

Myocardial external efficiency (MEE) can be accurately measured using a single 11C-acetate PET scan. This method shows reduced MEE in valvular heart disease, reflecting disease severity.

- MEE_PET strongly correlated with NYHA class and the severity of valvular dysfunction.
Conclusions:
- A single 11C-acetate PET scan provides accurate and automated MEE measurements across different scanners.
- Automated MEE assessment using PET may offer an unbiased evaluation of the heart's response to valvular disease.
