Can we use Cd-contaminated macrophytes for biogas production?

Phytoremediation using Eichhornia crassipes and Pistia stratiotes effectively removes cadmium (Cd) from wastewater. These plants can then be used for biogas production, even after Cd contamination, with 60 days of treatment being optimal.
