Differentiated thyroid carcinomas associated with chronic thyroiditis: biological and clinical properties

Chronic thyroiditis may positively impact thyroid cancer by reducing tumor size, invasion, and metastasis in papillary and follicular carcinomas. This beneficial effect is more pronounced in follicular thyroid carcinoma.
