Serum MMP-2 as a potential predictive marker for papillary thyroid carcinoma

Preoperative serum matrix metalloproteinase-2 (MMP-2) shows promise as a biomarker for diagnosing papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC). Elevated MMP-2 levels can predict lymph node metastasis and persistent or recurrent disease in male PTC patients.
