Abstract:
Chronic kidney failure is one of the pathologies identified by the French national health authority as requiring a priority care pathway. The patient undergoes a succession of life-changing events. The announcement of the need for renal replacement therapy (kidney transplantation, peritoneal dialysis or haemodialysis) marks the beginning of a life in which the patient must come to terms with the disease and its treatment. Supporting the patient through all these stages is essential and therapeutic education is crucial.
