Background:

  • Broncholithiasis involves calcified or ossified material within the bronchial lumen.
  • Common symptoms include non-productive cough and hemoptysis.

Observation:

  • This report details a rare case of broncholithiasis presenting with lithoptysis.
  • Lithoptysis is the expectoration of broncholiths.

Findings:

  • The patient was diagnosed with broncholithiasis.
  • The diagnosis was confirmed through clinical presentation and likely imaging (details not provided in abstract).

Implications:

  • Highlights the uncommon presentation of broncholithiasis with lithoptysis.
  • Emphasizes the importance of considering rare diagnoses in respiratory medicine.
