    • To assess both offline and real-time MPR performance in this population.

    • MPR of six hand motions using forearm electromyogram (EMG) signals from eight stroke subjects.
    • Offline analysis using random cross-validation (RCV) and chronological handout validation (CHV).
    • Real-time control experiments with an exoskeleton robotic hand.

    • MPR is feasible for robotic hand control in a subset of stroke patients.
    • Individual online testing is recommended to determine MPR feasibility for robot-assisted rehabilitation.
    • Personalized assessment is key for successful application of MPR in stroke rehabilitation.
