Abstract:
An update of cancer chemotherapy in 1985 that deals with the various therapies of lung cancer is described. At present, the stage of the disease and cell type are the major factors that determine the treatment. Important differences in the biological behavior and response to treatment exist between small cell and non-small cell cancers. Treatment of the small cell type, which is sensitive to many of the cancer chemotherapeutic agents, is discussed in this paper. Treatment of the non-small cell types was described in the October issue of the Journal.
