Background:

Osteosarcoma is a primary bone malignancy with significant morbidity.
Identifying molecular markers for osteosarcoma progression is crucial for improved patient outcomes.

Purpose of the Study:

To conduct a meta-analysis evaluating the expression levels of livin in human osteosarcoma.
To investigate the correlation between livin expression and clinicopathological features of osteosarcoma.

Main Methods:

Comprehensive literature search across major scientific databases (PubMed, Science Direct, Embase, Web of Science, CNKI, Wanfang, VIP).
Inclusion of original studies reporting livin expression in osteosarcoma.
Statistical analysis performed using Stata 11.0 software.

Main Results:

Livin expression was significantly elevated in osteosarcoma tissues compared to control groups (OR = 18.814, P < 0.001).
Positive livin expression correlated significantly with larger tumor size (OR = 4.832) and advanced Enneking staging (OR = 4.851).

Conclusions:

Livin is demonstrably overexpressed in osteosarcoma.
Livin expression levels are associated with tumor progression markers (size and stage), suggesting its potential role in osteosarcoma pathogenesis.
Livin may serve as a prognostic indicator for osteosarcoma patients.
