Elevated mean platelet volume (MPV) levels in stroke patients may predict post-stroke depression (PSD). Higher MPV at admission correlated with PSD development one month later.

- Higher MPV levels at admission are associated with the development of PSD.
- MPV may serve as a potential predictive biomarker for PSD in stroke patients.
