Phentermine use in a patient with metastatic prostate cancer led to significant elevations in 5-alpha-dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels, despite concurrent dutasteride therapy. Discontinuation of phentermine rapidly lowered DHT, suggesting a direct association.
