- Individuals with minor alleles in both TRPV1 rs222747 and BDKRB2 rs1799722 exhibited greater BP responses during exercise, with a more pronounced effect in men. No associations were found for other SNPs or during mental stress.

- Genetic variants in TRPV1 and BDKRB2 skeletal muscle receptors contribute to inter-individual differences in exercise BP responses.
- The effects of these genetic variants are additive and more pronounced in men.
- Skeletal muscle metaboreceptor genetic variations may represent a risk factor for exaggerated blood pressure responses during exercise.
