Increased arterial stiffness is linked to most cerebral small vessel disease (CSVD) imaging markers, including white matter changes and brain atrophy, but not lacunes. These findings highlight arterial stiffness as a significant factor in CSVD progression.

- Arterial stiffness does not appear to be associated with lacunes.
- Further research is needed to elucidate the mechanisms and clinical implications of these associations.
