    Etomidate, an anesthetic, blocks steroidogenesis by inhibiting cytochrome P450 and depleting ascorbic acid (vitamin C) in humans and guinea pigs. Ascorbic acid supplementation can reverse these effects, suggesting a link between vitamin C metabolism and etomidate
